In the recent release of 2006 Chinese Listed Companies 100 by Fortune Magazine (Chinese version), China Food (HK: 0506) under COFCO ranked 54th on the list and 1st in food industry.
The list covers all listed Chinese companies both in China and abroad. Top 4 are Sinopec, Petro China, China Mobile (Hong Kong) and China Telecom, the same as last year. China Food moved up from 58th last year to 54th this year.
The release, the 7th by Fortune (Chinese Version), is also the only one that includes all Chinese listed companies in stock exchanges around the globe, and thus has very high authority and reference value as it is becoming the barometer for Chinese economy and enterprises.
