Chi Jingtao gave a briefing on COFCO Group’s strategy of whole value chain development as well as its advantages in trade, logistics, breeding and processing. He noted that his short visit to the Far East region in September and his talk with Deputy Governor Sergei Sidorenko had given him a basic understanding of the development of agriculture and tourism in Primorsky Krai and helped him make a tentative plan for the next step of work.
Mr. Miklushevsky briefed Mr. Chi on the development of agriculture and tourism in Primorsky Krai and favorable policies regarding the free port and Special Advanced Economic Development Zone. He made a special note of mentioning October 12, which was the day when the bill on Free Port of Vladivostok signed by Putin took effect. Chi Jingtao expressed his congratulations on this and exchanged views on issues such as the selection of locations for projects, Russian work visa and the continuity of policies.
Both sides agreed to further explore possibilities of project cooperation in four areas including plantation, processing, grain port and hotel development. Governments of Primorsky Krai and Far Eastern Federal District, which hope to increase the local tax revenue and employment and to achieve the long-term stable growth and a win-win situation through investment and cooperation, will support the local development of COFCO.
