On September 2-5, COFCO Group Chairman Frank Ning, co-chairman of the B20 Trade Task Force, attended Business 20 (B20) Conference held in the host country Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attended the conference and delivered keynote speech respectively.
As a panel guest, Frank Ning attended the trade policy issue session, where his opinions regarding issues such as promoting trade facilitation and accelerating growth of digital economy from the business perspective evoked positive response from other representatives participating in the session. During the conference, Chairman Frank Ning also attended the joint meeting between B20 representatives and G20 Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and representatives of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Members of the Group of Twenty (G20) include G8 (the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada, Russia) and eleven major emerging industrial countries (China, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey) along with the European Union (EU). G20 finance minister meeting, ministerial meeting and G20 summit meeting are held annually in the host country. China will host world leaders for the G20 summit in 2016.
As an integral component of G20 summit, Business 20 (B20) serves as a major platform through which the international business community participates in the formulation of international trade rules and the global economic governance. Every year, the business community’s policy suggestions are submitted to G20 leaders through B20 summit and sessions, serving as important reference and basis for B20 leaders’ decision-making.
Over 1,000 business leaders from G20 member countries attended the conference.
